In addition to our high school activities, our elementary students heard from Sheriff Brandon Long about making safe choices, and then they were able to explore emergency vehicles. RSHS- A big thank you to our sponsors for bringing the Arrive Alive Tour to Rural Special! Our students, along with students from Timbo High School, were able to simulate driving drunk, drugged, or distracted. Hopefully, this will encourage our students to make better decisions before getting behind the wheel of a car.

RS: Rural Special's Homecoming ceremony and Meet the Rebels was held Friday night. Riandy Cruz was crowned Homecoming Queen, and after the presentation of the court, all teams played red and white games. In addition, Head Coach Hanse Bowman presented last year's Junior Girls with a banner for their Conference and District Championships, and he thanked the community for raising money for new bleachers and goals in the gym. It was a wonderful night to kick off the season, and we look forward to the first home game Thursday night! GO REBELS!

RS: Rural Special would like to thank our wonderful community for raising over $14,000 for our PTO Friday night. Our 5th grade class raised the most money in elementary, so Maddison Wilcox and Drachen Richoux were crowned King and Queen for elementary. Our 10th grade class raised the most money for high school, so Danielle Pipkin and Shane McBroom were crowned King and Queen for high school. It was a wonderful night for our community and school! A huge thank you for everyone who donated and to everyone who came out to support our school.

RS: We are excited for our annual Fall Fest this Friday night beginning at 5:30pm. Booths will be open from 5:30-6:55, with concessions available as well. In addition, there will be a silent auction in the library. Our raffle and Fall Fest Royalty presentation will begin at 7:00pm in the cafeteria. We expect that the cafeteria will be very crowded, and we apologize for this inconvenience; however, our gym is undergoing a remodel, so we are using the cafeteria this year. Please be patient with us this year, and we will be back in our gym next year, with much more comfortable seating. We hope to see a big crowd to support our PTO's fundraiser~ money used from this fundraiser goes directly to our teachers and students to enhance their education. Thank you!
