Rural Special High School is excited to offer the TRIO program to our 7-12th grade students. Please find the attached message from Pam Freer the assistant director of the program. Note, interested students must fill out an application to participate with the first date being Sept. 2nd. A flyer with the QR code and access to the application is included. Pam: We are seeking to primarily assist potential first generation/low income students on their journey toward post-secondary education. We will, as numbers allow, include students who do not meet those first gen/low income criteria. As allowed, we will include ACT Prep, Financial Aid Events, Campus Tours, Career Tours, LOCO Ropes adventures, and business tours.

Rural Special Schools will hold our Open House for the 2021-22 school year on Tuesday, August 10 from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. Due to Covid-19, the drive thru format for Open House will be used again this fall in the high school parking lot. Rural Special is also offering a digital learning program for the 2021-22 school year. However, the program is for students, or family members of students, who either: 1.) have a documented medical condition resulting in a compromised immune system or: 2) students that have shown prior success in an online learning program. The digital learning program will be conducted by contracted entities outside of the Rural Special schools and no Rural Special or MVSD teachers will be involved in the digital learning program. For more information concerning the digital learning program, call 870-363-4365

Thanks to RS PTO and a surplus of supplies, our school supply list is short. K-12 needs ear buds, a backpack, and 2 boxes of Kleenex. K-1 needs two hand writing tablets. K-6 needs a supply box, and 4th-6th needs a zipper binder. HS Art students need a sketch pad. Hope you're having a great summer. School starts August 16th.
